Lester Buildings Wins NFBA Building of the Year Award
May 8, 2007

The National Frame Builders Association (NFBA) held its annual Frame Building Expo convention and trade show, February 28 - March 2, 2007 in Indianapolis. During the event, first place winners in 16 building categories received awards for the annual NFBA "Building of the Year" Contest.

An entry from Lester Buildings, headquartered out of Lester Prairie, MN, won the NFBA Building of the Year Award in the "Horse Barns/Facilities" category. The structure, built for Doug McIntosh and Amy Chaltry, is an eight-stall horse barn with wash bay, tack room, feed room, lounge and restroom.

Measuring 38'x72'x12' and featuring a gambrel-style roof, the building's first floor stall barn includes eight stalls (12' x 12') with dutch doors. The entire interior is insulated and finished out with tongue and groove wood. The barn also has a second-floor (mow) floor system. The exterior is finished with cedar channel vertical siding, two roof dormers and two 48" cupolas.

A Uni-Frame® building system from Lester Buildings was used due to its functionality and flexibility to meet the client's design requests and budget.

"With over 20 years experience and as CEO of my own building and development companies, I understand the construction process better than most," said building owner Douglas McIntosh. "Ron Foust, my Lester salesman, was great, guiding me through the entire project. First, he helped me design a truly custom barn that fit all of my needs, then he stayed involved throughout the construction process - talk about service after the sale! I was very impressed with my Lester construction crew - those guys are true craftsmen, they take pride in their work and it shows. I love my new Lester barn, it's the nicest in the county!"

With manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Illinois and Virginia, Lester Buildings is one of the largest manufacturers of engineered post-frame structures in the United States.
