The Minnesota Vikings have a winning legacy that includes 23 NFL Playoff appearances, 16 Division titles, an NFL Championship and three NFC Championships. Beyond their reputation as a consistent, top-performing team on the field, the team is committed to succeed off the field by strengthening its relationships with fans as well as their business partners. In 2002, this commitment took the form of a new pavilion right at the practice field at Winter Park.

The purpose of this pavilion is to provide an outdoorsy, yet comfortable, protective environment for Vikings business partners to bring their employees, clients and prospective clients to watch a real-life Vikings practice or mini-camp up close and personal. Whatever the event, from catered special events and company parties/meetings to customer appreciation and employee recognition, the Vikings Pavilion is simply another way for the Vikings to extend itself into the community and help its sponsors glean even more value out of their relationship with the team.

The Vikings were looking for a credible, established company that could react fast and bring a no nonsense approach to the process. They turned to Lester Building Systems, another national leader with local Minnesota roots with offices exactly 42 miles due west of the Vikings' facility at Winter Park. Established in 1947, Lester specializes in "system buildings" (see below) that are custom engineered and manufactured in a controlled plant environment then shipped "site ready" to be quickly erected with little of the inefficiencies inherent with other building methods.

The Vikings Pavilion fits easily into the general look and feel of the Winter Park practice facility. The structure is an open-air 36' x 84' x 10' with special architectural trusses, 2 ft. overhangs, architectural standing seam metal roof and trimmed out in Vikings colors. The building will be able to be weather-proofed via retractable awnings placed between the sidewall columns in case of inclement conditions. The building features a large storage room.
