Vikings Pavilion > Building Progress

Project Complete! - A curtain system was installed early in 2003. This effectively completed the Lester portion of the project. The Vikings will be adding an entertainment and grilling station (a canopy on the western side near the back storage room) some lighting and sound system. Lester was proud to be a part of this project and the company looks forward to continuing its sponsor-relationship with the team in the years ahead!

Close-up, looking up, at the privacy curtain system used on the Vikings Pavilion. Curtains will be used in certain inclement weather conditions or when a level of privacy is desired.

The pavilion is ready to be used with the community, the press, for clinics and any number of other events the Vikings have in store!

January 7, 2003 -- It's the New Year and it's 54 degrees today! Unbelievable mid-winter weather for finishing up the building. Today marked the start of testing curtain concepts by the team. While curtain options are being considered, the purple eave trim (below the gold) was temporarily taken off after an inspection found some minor but irritating dings in the trim -- originating from Lester's supplier's factory. The new trim will be applied before the end of this week...watch for updated photos as it really finishes off the structure. If this weather keeps up, the facility just may come in use yet this winter!

December 2, 2002 -- Lots of progress has been made as we close in on the final days of work. The weather has really cooperated with highs in the 30s and even some 40s and no precipitation. As a result, construction activity will be ending any day now as the team and Lester near the designated ribbon-cutting ceremony. Today was a big day with the storage room floor being poured and the roof started.

It was an unusually cold day at the appropriately-named Winter Park delivery site! Basic site prep activities included plotting building on site, marking column placements, unloading building material in order of job flow and confirming final details with Vikings officials.
