Notes:
The client envisioned a new building designed to showcase and store their collectibles and antiques, while capturing the charm and character of an old barn and general store. Working closely with the client, we developed a custom design that blends modern construction with historic aesthetics.
Barn Red steel was used on the two less-visible walls, while the primary walls feature reclaimed-style red barn siding installed over OSB, housewrap, and a rainscreen system to enhance durability and extend the life of the original shiplap look. Rust-print steel was incorporated on the porch and lean-to roofs to seamlessly blend with the weathered barn wood appearance. Cedar-wrapped porch posts add warmth and authenticity to the exterior, while the concrete porch was stamped with a wood plank pattern to further reinforce the rustic feel.

The client sourced windows and doors to complete the timeless look they were aiming for. Inside, scissor trusses create added height and openness, providing ample space to display and hang collectibles. The building is constructed on a concrete pier foundation with wet-set brackets and a solid composite grade board, ensuring long-term strength and stability beneath its classic exterior.
